Project Specification

To replace the current 400w metal halide Hi bay units (x100) and increase the Lux levels throughout the production shop floor. A Carbon Trust loan was not available as the company is a multi-national so a strict budget of £20,000 had to be met. 

Site Visit

After a site visit Alpha were invited to install twelve 350w converter packs as a trial. The Venture 350w convertor kit incorporate a HIPE 350w lamp which offers an improvement in Lux levels whilst reducing energy consumption.
The trial was an immediate success. Even with the naked eye, the quality of the new lamp compared to the old was obvious to the workforce and management who were then keen for the remaining units to be converted.

Lux level readings taken before and after show an average improvement of 36%

Installation

Due to the quantity required at the site we were able to supply a new Hi bay unit reflector and 350w lamp. This then reduced the installation cost which aids the payback schedule. 

Conclusion

Alpha delivered new fittings, increased the Lux levels, reduced the energy consumption and kept within the given budget.
